SSL v2.0 vs SSL v3

Hi,
I'm using NB v6.53 build 3311 and have just upgraded my internet security suite. I am now using Kaspersky internet security 2015.

I seem to have found a problem with KIS and NewsBin Pro and also how to fix it but I don't understand the issue or ramifications.
When I initiate any download I get an error message blocking Newsbin because of an "attempt to use a vulnerable version of ssl protocol".

KIS is apparently set up to block the SSL 2.0 protocol. I can toggle this and fix the issue but I don't understand what this actually means.

I suppose my question is, should Newsbin be using a newer version of the SSL protocol? And does it matter if it doesn't?

thanks for any info.

For those who want to find the setting in KIS, here's how: Settings/ Additional/ Network/ Advanced Settings

How's it set in the options? Servers/Really Advanced.

Quade,
as ever, you fix all problems. :D

I had automatically selected v2 in Servers/ Really Advanced due to the Europe comment. I thought I should play safe, not realising.

Thanks for pointing this out.
